4th week of FYP. Unlucky!

Yet again. Another post.

This week in FYP has been pretty "busy".

Not to mention, Aggravating, Irritating and Frustrating.

I really am starting to think I'm cursed with 1 million years of bad luck.

First. I set my lappy to reformat and return to default factory settings. This would probby take like around 15 mins so I went to take a bath first. I came back and my lappy is turned off.

I turn it on, thinking it's reformatted. Right after the booting screen, this is what shows:

NTLDR is not found
Press any key to restart
So my face becomes like really fed up and I'm having this 3 words in my mind.

WHAT THE F***?

Luckily, I pre-ordered Vista Business from school that day. And now, my lappy runs on Vista. Pretty interesting. But I still prefer XP.

Secondly, I get a warning letter from Mark Lim and Kelvin Ng for being late. Apparently, the timing of me clocking in is taken from the fingerprint system and four of the timings showed that I'm 30 minutes late.

8:52 a.m
9:02 a.m
9:03 a.m
9:17 a.m

And those timings are still clearly embedded in my mind.

Yay.

And now, I'm on probation for 2 weeks to come to school early.

Might not sound like a good reason to you. But seriously, give it a try for a week first. Then tell me your comments on this:
  1. Try sleeping at 12 a.m.
  2. Wake up at 5 a.m.
  3. Just spend around 15 mins eating stuff
  4. Go back to sleep
  5. Try waking up 45 mins later at 6 a.m.
  6. Go to school after that on bus 72 from Tampines Interchange
Test that for 1 week, then come back to me about the results.

I got countered with this question instead, "In your previous semesters, you had classes that started at 8 a.m. right? Why can you make it on time for that and not for your FYP?"

You wanna know why?

BECAUSE THAT LESSON FALLS ONLY ON A SINGLE DAY WHERE I NEED TO WAKE UP AT 8 A.M.!

NOT FOR A FISHING WHOLE WEEK!

And then, I receive a warning to remove me from my competition due to my "attitude".

Attitude, they call it.

If the problem is with my attitude, why do I want to sacrifice my health to sleep only for 4-5 hours, and then come to school?

Not to mention, even though muslim students are able to go home at 5 p.m instead of the usual 6 p.m...

I CLOCK OUT AFTER 6 P.M, GOD DAMN IT!

Never mind that. Now, I just want to finish this probation period and do my project in peace.

Here's a list of stuff that I like and I hate, the dos and don't s during FYP:

Things I Hate:
  • Fingerprint Clock In System. The bane of my existence.
  • Unfair treatment between similar courses. Why do we get to be the guinea pigs for the fingerprint system and not those at Level 3?
  • An auto-shutdown laptop. Seriously.
  • A handphone that can literally go on low batt after 5 mins of talking, even after being fully charged.
  • A PSP that can go on low batt after 15 mins of WiFi play. I can't socialize better if this is not fixed.
  • Being scolded, ranted, accused of stuff I did not do, including giving lousy "attitude" just because I reach school late by 30 minutes.
  • How lecturers give you a solution to your late-coming due to specific reasons. Such as, "If you can't make it on time for this month, then we'll delay it later. You'll just have to finish your third year later."
  • Systems and Rules. They were meant to be broken, you know.
  • How some password retrieval website works if you fail to type in the correct password 3 times. Dark Eden website has wasted 2-3 hours of my life till now.
Things I Like
  • The guys in my lab. They make the apparent negative score of -1000000 on FYP into 100%. The existing and pushing force to reach school everyday without fail.
  • Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. I have a hunter to hunt with now in lab.
  • Dynamips, Dynagen and GNS3. Its way more fun than the dang fingerprint system.
  • NAPFA. New friends, new buddies.
  • My supervisors. Comparitive to the others, they deserve a 9/10.
Do's in FYP
  • Come early. Warning letters are time bombs. This... Somehow shows your attitude in FYP.
  • Endure, endure and endure. It goes to show your willpower to take scoldings from your supervisor.
  • Keep a low profile. Getting too well known might get you in hot soup.
Don'ts in FYP
  • Opposite of the above.
Word of the Week

Kao Peh (Pronounced cow~peh/bei/beh. Verb. A word that signifies insult of one's father. E.g, "Wa lao. That si gina sibei kao peh.")

That's all for today. Feeling much better after this post.

Although I'm still pissed.

Kao peh.

Time to FYP. Time to do work. Or time to play games?

Its been yet again, another... 3-4 months.

And I'm back. Perhaps if you noticed, the link has changed to the current nickname I'm using in playing games. Ah well, search for the word without the "x" on a dictionary.

Anyway, its finally the 2nd semester of the final year where I start my FYP and IPP. Currently, I'm in block L.633 doing my FYP first.

Needa separate the good stuff, bad stuff and the..... usual news.

Let's start with the usual news.

I was really expecting FYP to be damn stressful. Seriously. I still remember looking at those guys in the other path doing FYP and IPP first during my study semester and they look damn haggard.

I look at Spenser, Jocelyn and Pei Lin and they are damn stressed, not forgetting the hatred for their... "supervisor". I swear he sounded damn gey the first time I heard him speak.

Well, he has that "shine" on his head.

Everyone knows a guy with a clean head is Manly.

Well, not really every baldy.

Shit, I just said "baldy". I'll have to be more polite. Pretty bad to call people like this.

Next.

I look at Kar Kit and he's godly stressed by Mr. Heng. Didn't know my PEM was such a bitch. Oh well... Can't blame me for not knowing. Firstly, I only spoke, or perhaps saw, him once for a class matter.

And it was to collect S$4 for class chalet. Pfft.

No shit. That guy was literally ranting every piece of heart-breaking, mind-blowing insult at Kar Kit. Now I feel Mark Lim is better than Mr. Heng.

Before you guys don't know, I disliked Mark Lim for his inability to let people explain themselves. Just like that newspaper incident. This is probably the first time I've seen a person display such exquisite level of oral skills to the extent of not making a person reply the first question after he finished his third question.

Okay, that sentence was confusing. Simply to put it, he didn't give me a chance to answer his first question about a newspaper until he finished asking his third question.

Mr. Heng definitely requires a 540 turning to his head.

Back to topic. What am I doing in FYP?

Playing PSP
Playing flash games
Sleeping
Slacking
Typing reports
English error checking
Searching for information
Wikipedia
News, news and more news

Shit, I need to read my Dynagen and Dynamips configuration notes soon before I get screwed.

Now, to the bad stuff.

September's not a good month this year. And its pretty bad.

Firstly, I got whacked, whooped and injured pretty bad during the Nationals, which was 1 day before school started. Came to the first day of school in bandages and plasters.

Secondly, I failed my driving test with a whole chunk of demerits. Not confident enough, I agree. Need more practice.

Thirdly, right after the second week of school, I come 5 mins right after manual attendance was taken. Mark Lim came after that and got pretty much scolded. Luckily, I had Bear to back me up. Didn't bother to answer any of his questions to me, since I would rather not anger or irritate anyone. I was like "Ya" and "Ok". I'll just bear all this until November.

Then, he did the finishing move.

He implemented the fingerprint system.

Great. Wonderfully executed move by him. Now I got "motivation" to not fall back on the bed when I wake up at 6:15am. Thanks a lot, Technology.

Fourth, I got GPA 2.97. Kenneth gets 3. He's in director's list. I'm like, 0.03 to getting inside. Not to mention. He called me names similar to lousy and noob when I failed my driving test. And that he keeps telling me he finally beat me now.

Yay. If you're smarter then, why not...

You stop asking me how to do your SQL Server Management codings. I'm lousy in SQL anyway. I'm only good in C# programming and Visual Basic.

Pass your god damned Final Theory and try taking the TP since you think its so easy.

Nuff' said.

And finally, the whole thing that makes it even energy draining for me.

Its fasting month.

Oh well. Enough of crappy bad news. Just makes the heart heavier.

Good news!

I'm making lots of nice, good friends. L.633 is... really undefinable. Everyone's nice and friendly.

Wait. I'll rephrase that.

Everyone's so damn humourous and funny! Especially Michelle. Perhaps we should make an award for being the Best Source of Laughter in class.

No seriously. Its the laughter that gives me a lot of energy to focus and stay awake in class. It somehow provides energy even though I'm fasting.

And not to forget.

Even though my family doesn't do cakes anymore, these guys celebrated my birthday!

We all had lunch at Botak Jones and a Chocolate cream cake after that. I really felt happy on that day where the whole class could come out and eat together.

Once again,

Thank you L.633! Honto Arigato!

Now, I think I should pay an extra bit for the class fund. Perhaps we can really make it about 200 grand instead of 20 bucks.

Ok, I was joking about the 200 grand. I meant a bit more as in 2 bucks.

Now I feel like doing an ABC about L.633.

Active & Amusing - Funny class, with lots of funny stuff.
Beyond Explanation - Its one hell of a fun class to be in.
Cream of the Crop - Supposed to mean the best in the group. I'll use it for "The best in the whole FYP."

Now, I can't wait to go to school for more fun, less work and less scoldings.
