The final task before term tests!

YOSH! Finally finished the last presentation for... erm.. this first half of the semester.

I think...

Just got a stupid report worth of 18-20 pages left to do between my team mates.

Anyway, I found a bit of time to post this. Its taken from Harold & Kumar 2 : Escape From Guantanamo Bay.

Yep, you guessed it. Its the lyrics to the poem Kumar said during the wedding. The poem he wrote in school during the flashback in the movie. And I do feel, its a pretty interesting and funny poem.
Hehe... Here goes:

I’m sure that I will always be,
a lonely number like root three
The three is all that’s good and right
Why must my three keep out of sight?
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine
For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic
I know I’ll never see the sun,
as 1.7321
Such is my reality,
a sad irrationality
When dark ! What is this I see?
Another square root of a three
As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer
Rejoicing as an integer
We break free from our mortal bonds,
with the wave of magic wands
Our square root signs become unglued.
Your love for me has been renewed

Have fun reciting the lyrics. If you want, that is....

Anyway, back to recent events.

Played badminton with Ganesh and his freshies from 2pm to 6pm on Friday, or somewhat... 23rd of May 2008. And I had butt cramps, calf muscle aches and perhaps a more muscular forearm. That bleddy basket kept playing smacking with me for a constant 5-10 shots. Got to know a few of his freshies during that time. Like Shafiq, Kim Koon, Fook How, Yeow Hon, Jensen, Pearl, Zhi Hao, Roy, Wilson, Boon Siang, Christine, who is a friend of Pearl, and a few others that I haven't listed out? Can't find anymore memories in my brain databank of the images I saw that day. After like around 6:45pm there, Ganesh taught Pearl a few poomsae patterns. And yet again, the bleddy basket made me do 540 reverse. Then, I had back aches for the next 2 days due to that. Sparred for fun for awhile, since I haven't done light contact for some time.

After that, it was left with the seven of us, which were Ganesh, Me, Yeow Hon, Jensen, Christine, Pearl and Boon Siang. We went over to Cheers to get some drinks to get some energy back before heading over to Long John Silvers at Tampines Mall. Boon Siang and Pearl went off to look around while the remaining 5 of us ate there to fill our emptied bellies. Did I mention? We snagged a 2-seater table before this couple could sit.

The female said very loudly, "FUCK!".

Then as the both of them walked off, she stared at me like as if I had planted the world's most powerful nuclear bomb in Tampines Mall. My god, even the guy didn't say anything and she couldn't keep her mouth shut for vulgarities. They found a seat eventually though. And I was sitting there thinking, "Alright, when's the guy going to come over and do some stuff..."

Well, in the end, they didn't.

Then me and Jensen had a chat while Ganesh, Yeow Hon and Christine were having a conversation.

Anyway Jensen, don't worry too much about the term tests. The more you worry, the more you can't score. As long as you understand and know what you are writing, you're safe. As long as you are confident that you know what you are doing, you will score pretty well.

Did I mention, no one questioned about my race? Lol. I felt pretty weird. Must be due to the same old questions of, "You ARE CHINESE?!" or "KAU CAKAP CINA?!"

Oh well, that was a few years back.

After we finished, we went to find Pearl and Boon Siang at the arcade and MY GOD!

Pearl dances DAMN nice! I've never seen anyone danced that well before! Not to mention, she stunned the crowd. Including a chubby woman at the sides who was saying so loud that the machine was cake. Well, she fell silent after Pearl left the machine.

Then we slowly walked down and parted ways at the mrt station. Everyone shook hands with a special style. Then Jensen and Yeow Hon took the MRT. Pearl, Christine and Boon Siang went to the bus interchange. Me and Ganesh, walked home as usual. Then I felt my body was dismembered when I woke up at 3 am later on. Really out of energy I guess. Can't wait for this coming Friday for badminton again though.

Then the upcoming days, chionged powerpoint presentation for comm skills. Which went without much trouble.

And now, back to the report. Its like 20% done now. Back to work then!

End Of The World?

Heh. I just read Eileen's recent post on her journal. Then I looked at the time and it was 3:33 am.

So I thought I might as well post something on that topic before I start a new post on the past few fun days.

Everyone's been talking about the end of the world.

And those that know me. You know I read Wikipedia when I'm bored. As in literally, bo liao until to the limit.

And I do like to read up on space and Earth topics.

So here goes.

Lets talk about the long term events. Like around a few billion years to come to Earth. I guess everyone knows, everything in the universe moves. The Solar System is in the galaxy known as the Milky Way. And that there is more than one galaxy in the whole universe.

Specifically, the Andromeda Galaxy.

Currently, the Andromeda Galaxy is on a collision course with the Milky Way with an average speed of 140 kilometres per second and an impact is expected in 3 billion years time. This merging of the two galaxies, can push our solar system to be in an eccentric, or odd, orbit that the solar system is moving now. Also, merging means that newer planets, stars and other space objects will come in contact close with the Earth.

Next, The Sun.

Perhaps not everyone, but most of us know. The Sun is existant on burning everyday. Every minute. Every second. The amount of hydrogen allows the Sun to continually combust to provide heat around. However, the amount of hydrogen, is not limitless.

In 5 billion years, stellar evolution, or the aging process of a star, which is our Sun, predicts that the Sun will exhaust its core hydrogen and turn into something we call, a Red Giant.

A Red Giant is basically, a giant luminous star that has a low or intermediate amount of mass that is in its late phase of its aging process, with nuclear fusion occurring outside the core of the Sun but not in the core itself.

When the Sun becomes a Red Giant, it expands to the size where it is big enough to engulf all of the inner planets in the Solar System. Other words, everything before the Asteroid Belt. Which includes Earth.

Before this year, studies calculated that the expansion of the Sun, would result in the Earth having a wider orbit around the Sun, such that Earth will not be engulfed by the Sun. However, recent studies show that due to tidal interaction with the Sun and Earth, it is likely that the Earth will still be swallowed by the Sun's expansion.

Well then, I guess we won't stay alive for like 3 to 5 billion years, do we?

Back to reality then.

And not to mention, I'm pretty, scared, excited and curious to see the next few events that might or will happen in the next 30 years of my life.

Perhaps some of you might have heard of Apophis 99942, a NEA, or Near Earth Asteroid, that might have caused a concern in December 2004.

The asteroid is predicted to miss Earth in the year 2029. It will then pass through a gravitional keyhole, then come back to Earth in a precise region of space of not more than 400 metres across, setting up for a future impact with the Earth in April 13, 2036. However, after recent studies, the asteroid now has a 1 in 45000 chance of impacting with Earth. But well, anything can happen right?

Another event that can happen, but with an extremely low chance. GRB, or Gamma Ray Bursts. GRBs are created when a star has collapsed and turns into a black hole. The collapsing of energy, due to the core of a rapidly rotating, high-mass star, creates so much energy, that when it becomes a black hole, it releases the energy in a burst of a high gamma ray. A burst can last from a few milliseconds to minutes. However, for a GRB to hit Earth, the GRB has to be directed to Earth. And the ray travels so fast that after a GRB of a nearby collapsed star, the GRB will strike Earth in about a few minutes time. The blast from the GRB will potentially affect the Earth's atmosphere. Not to mention, extreme exposure to civilians on its contact point.

Then now, back to the stuff that we are all familiar about. Global Warming.

10 years ago, do you still remember the temperature?
I remember it was around 26-29 degrees celsius here in 1990s. 10 years later, the temperature has jumped 2 to 4 degrees higher.

By the year 2020, the temperature might rise to near our body heat temperature, if from the measurement of a rise of 2 to 4 degrees in a decade.

Global warming can cause a lot of problems.

One, which I recently read about. Hypercanes.

Hypercanes are a stronger version of hurricanes. Hurricanes disappear once they reach landfall, which is when they cross over land. A hypercane, is an upgraded version, where they can produce wind speeds of up to 800 kilometres per hour. Hurricanes produces heat energy while they are created. Similarly, hypercanes can produce enough heat to the ocean such that it allows more hypercanes to be formed.

Well, the hypercane is a hypothetical class of a tropical cyclone.

Time for the really real deal.

It is predicted that, the ice caps on the Himalayas, will melt away by the year 2035, flooding Myanmar and countries nearby.

Read the rest on the link.

Glaciers in the Himalayas melting at a rapid rate

GOD, I'M A NERD DAMN IT!

Ah well. The only thing I'm concerned is...

Live life to the fullest. Live it just like the way you want it to be.

Remember my friendster tagline.

"One life to live it all."

Sigh, the start of practical lessons.

YAY! I GOT MY PDL!! Its nice and green in colour!

And made with paper......

And perhaps later, as in literally, 23rd May 2008, I might go play badminton with Ganesh and his mina-sans.

By the way, Mina-sans means friends in japanese.

And then perhaps load up the COD 4 : Modern Warfare in his com with my hard disk.

Anyway, I guess I'm going private practical lessons. I must chiong lessons, to drive that someone, one day!

Ok.. Not only that someone, but some other important people.

Anyway, pictures time! As promised!

Kevin and Gey Joni trying to smooch. I think...

Chun and Eileen, doing... a... somewhat... interesting... pose?

A Class Pic before leaving school!

And after 2 hours of information on the Army... We finally came to the end of the NE Field Trip. Then... Its back to picture time!

Another Class pic outside the museum!

The few of us trying to catch a jump shot.

And they started to get really candid with a few funny faces.

Males in line, doing something....

Shi Qin and Chun trying for a "kiss" with the fountain between.

Yet another candid shot by the trio.

And yet in the end....

Its the smiles on the photos, that show how much we really enjoy and laugh together when we were a class, is a class.

Always have been a class together, Always will be a class together.

Call Of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare

YES! After nearly 36 hours of non-stop torrent-ing, I FINALLY HAVE.....

CALL OF DUTY 4 : MODERN WARFARE!

Seriously, its pretty modern.

Call Of Duty : Finest Hour for the Xbox featured World War II, where the Axis and Allies were at war. No japs though. Just pure german soldiers.

Call Of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare, features Counter-Terrorism. We have upgrades Carbines, or M16s. We have Ak-47s with grenadiers. Shotguns with scopes? Dragonuv sniper rifles. Spectre Gunships. Helicopters. Flashbangs. Frag grenades. Remote-Controlled C4s. And perhaps the scenery of a nuclear missile.

Anyway, I woke up at 12:43 pm just to find out that the program was finally downloaded. Then i spent like 1 hour trying to find a UIF extractor for it. Bleddy guy makes my life difficult by not putting it in WinRAR format. Then I started rebuilding the whole file.

Just in case you guys don't know what is rebuilding. Rebuilding doesn't mean re-build something like a building. But in programming terms, it means to debug a program solution.

Anyway, the dang rebuilding would take 35 mins as stated in the readme file. So I went to CGH with my Dad. Waiting to see the doc for nearly 1 hour plus. And the best part, CGH always shows Channel NewsAsia on the TV. Guess what, they were showing about the country Abu Dhabi. It was a 4:33pm show till 5pm. And one thing I need to comment on. No pun intended though.

The commercial about Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. They basically replayed that commercial like 5-6 times within that 30 mins.

Eventually, I got bored of it and for once, held LianHe ZaoBao and started reading it.

And Jet Li's helping out in the Sichuan Earthquake.

Then I finally reached home at around 6 pm plus there. And found out my lappy auto-shutdowned due to the high processing speed of rebuilding while I was out.

I had to re-extract the whole folder, then rebuild the whole program again, which wasted another 1 hour of my life.

Finally, when I could get it to work, my lappy auto-shutdowned again due to, yet again, the high processing speed from the high quality graphics of the game.

Oh wait, did I mention it auto-shutdowned like 5 to 6 times while I was playing it?

Until, I lowered the processing speed to, literally, Low. Then my lappy listened to me.

After playing like for 4 hours, my brain's full of SAS, U.S. Marines and terrorists.

Not to mention the amount of times I died while trying to return a grenade back to the enemy when the grenade exploded in my hand. Pfft.

And I'm still thinking of what to do on Friday...

PDL & Lessons, Here I Come! Money & Moolahs, Don't Fly Away!

Well.. Finally, Tuesday is over.

The presentation was not really that badly done after all. Everyone was focusing on our video more than the powerpoint itself. And I saw smiles around during our video. My god, I must have looked like a clown.

Oh wait, I AM a clown.

Then Mr Leung asked me 1 question, because I was the "so-called" Project Manager in the video.

"How would you choose your project members if you were assigned a project?"

Didn't phrase my answer well. Basically said, "I would check up the members' details on their previous experiences and skills before the project starts and send them for courses before beginning on the project."

He summarized it into, "You mean, you would do planning and estimate first, before starting on the project." Or something like that.

Then the whole class gave a round of applause. Most likely for being the first group to present our slides and video.

Put it simply, WE HAVE BALLS! ( You get what I mean.)

Then after the presentation, me and Js went for the FTT test. Sadly, yet again, we're splitted. I passed and he failed.

NO FEAR JS! I'll provide you with help in my utmost power if you need it!

In fact, I fear for myself now. I need to get a PDL. And check for colour blindness.

Wait it turns out I AM COLOUR BLIND. I'm screwed then.

Then after applying for PDL, which is S$25, I have to decide on taking school practical lessons or going private lessons.

Going for school practical lessons mean I have to convert to school instead of private. That's S$100 bucks.

Every lesson costs S$72 bucks.

There's a total of 31-32 lessons to complete.

Total amount will reach around S$2000.

Its time I find a job as a gigolo.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I shall not do that kind of stuff!

One, I don't think earning money that way is... unethical and inappropriate.
Two, I don't eat soft rice.
Three, well... Three basically says, NO TO GIGOLOS!

^%$&%^^*^&%#^&@#$%&^

[Insert extremely insulting words to gigolos here.]

Anyway, my sister was like peeping at what I was typing and she was saying some godly lame riddles. Here's some to share:

In a family, everyone receives a fair share of S$10 bucks.
Guess a Singapore MRT Station name.

Answer: Commonwealth. They receive a common share of the wealth.

Why did the mushroom want to go to the party?

Answer: Because he was a fungi (fun-guy).

What did the mushroom do at the party?

Answer: He wanted to find some fungus (fun-girls).

Lame right? I know, because my legs can hardly move now.

Here we go... Yet again.

BAH! WEEK 6 AND ITS PRESENTATIONS ALREADY!

#$%^&&^$#@#^&%&$^@

[Insert exclusively strong vulgarities here.]

First up. Round 1
IT3786 - IT Services & Management

I'm doing a topic on "Problems Encountered During A Project - Inappropriate & Insufficient Skills"

Guess the best part. We had to film a video of an example of this topic.

We had...

1 trial take.

5 NGs

1 Perfect take

And I made a blooper when I smiled while entering the door. Which made me look like a bleddy stalker going to kill someone.

Really funny day yesterday. But after an hour or so, we got it done. And I must say, the filming was really like a TV drama serial show.

After that, we managed to get together... 8 freaking nubbie slides. Which has to last for 10 minutes.

The video takes 1 min 45 secs. I guess we'll end around 6 mins.

We / my group, is literally, screwed.

THEN I GOT FTT TMR! Sure fail one. Never studied. Cos.... I CAN'T!!!

If tomorrow I look very du lan, means I passed. If I look very happy, means I failed.

Why the reverse effect?
Because if I pass, I have to chiong lesson. nearly 60-70 bucks per lesson, is no joke. And I'm empty on ammo now. Need to reload soon.

If I fail, no need chiong lesson. Simple logic. But have to wait till July for the next FTT. Gey.

Anyway, the 7 of us met at Starbucks again to play... Counter Strike.

@*(%^$#@%$%&#$^&

[Insert extreme words of hatred here.]

Counter Strike per every LAN game for nearly a month. I'm sick, and sick and bleddy sick of it. Luckily, We should be playing DotA soon. Like in 1 minute's time and I'm still at home looking at the gey powerpoint. Time to move. Heh.

Screwed in... various directions.

Hmm.. Didn't blog for the past... 1 week plus?

And its due to...

Homeworks...
Projects...
More homeworks...
And more projects...
Neverending pile of homeworks...
And many more neverending pile of projects...

The weeks have flown past pretty fast and its like OMFG?

Week 5.

Welcome to 1/4 semester.

Current tasks at hand:

2 formal projects to present.
1 case study to hand in this coming tuesday.
1 project charter to pass up.
Final theory test coming up.

And I mostly think the stress emanates from Communication Skills.

Because that crappy lecturer gives us homework for 2 weeks ahead. By the way, I'm finishing the Comm Skills book like in 2 weeks time.

Eff Communication Skills.

Eff Projects.

Eff Homeworks.

Can't really eff Networking.

Cause I'll be effing myself if I effed that.

Anyway, went to class late by an hour today because of the rain. I woke at 10 a.m. Just nice to make it in time for school. But I just fell back like a rock and woke up 1 hour 30 mins later. So I reached school around 1 p.m instead of 12 p.m.

But Lam lam's a good lecturer. Still let me sign attendance. Keke.

He's the reason why I'm putting interest in Networking.

Ok, that was a lame excuse. It because of something else though.

That 6 lettered word, starting with the letter F.

6 letters. Not Eff I guess.

F-U-T-U-R-E

Apparently, CCNA can't be taken outside as compared to programming. If not, I would have went programming instead.

And there was NE field trip to Army Museum today. All about Guards, Armour, Artillery, Commandoes, Signals and Infantry.

WHERE'S THE AIR FORCE?!?!?!

Never mind. I'll be the next Tony Stark and create my own army.

Oh wait. "I am an army."

Took a few nice pics and a lot of candid shots. Like how the guys were in one line, showing their groin out. Oops.. Didn't just spelt that full word out, did I? At least I didn't say something else. Hehe....

Sian. I'm heading towards the lifeless valley soon. Its plain study and computer.

NO GIRL SIAL!!!!

Heads up. 18 year old single male coming up.

LOL! I'm like super bored.

That's why you see text being typed in 1 sentence, 1 paragraph.

By the way.

Eileen, your eyecandy isn't gey. He's just weird. =X

Movies, LAN, More movies, More LAN.

Shat. I'm tired and stressed.

And today is really money-spamming week.

Watched Doomsday on Wednesday. Followed by Iron Man on Thursday. And perhaps watching Harold and Kumar 2 again later on.

*Spoiler Alert*

Doomsday is a movie about a virus that struck a town in Scotland and it spreads so fast that it causes an epidemic around the whole of Britain.

Typical Resident Evil / 28 Days/Weeks Later.

Anyway, the virus is termed the "Reaper" virus. Basically, it spreads through blood and air. Anyone who contracts the virus will have sores on their faces and start vomiting blood, and some other "stuff". However, the immune are... well... IMMUNE LAR DUH!!!

Its better to watch the show for yourself though. The first few scenes are abit, scary and filled with gore / blood / [Insert bloody stuff here] scenes whereas the middle and ending parts are somewhat thrilling and added with a pinch of laughter.

Like when the gang boss, Sol, couldn't chase up to Eden Sinclair and scolds a prolonged "eff" word. Then punches his subordinate for no reason.

I'd rate this movie a 3.5/5 star.

Enough of the lousy stuff.

Iron Man is a COOL MOVIE. Though I must say. The ending was pretty, unexpected and sudden.

But the fight with the terrorists were really nicely done.

Not to mention the humourous parts when he was testing out the amount of thrust power for his jet boots.

This movie is worth 5/5 stars and every little cent in your wallet.

*End of Spoiler*

Pretty fast spoilers huh? Its because its like 3:18 am and I'm darn sleepy and lazy to type more. Not to mention I still got a bowl of Tomato Beef Stew to finish before I can sleep. Yawn.

And I request for more teamwork in Dota plezz!

Don't solo. If not, you'll get to see what I'll do to you when you ask for help.

By the way, I'm struck with a freaking skin allergy! MY GOD! My whole face is red with rashes and I got a red bindi between my eyebrows. Not to mention a "scar" on my nose. Bleddy face cream.

Allergies suck. The itch that it causes you can nearly make you want to bang a wall and knock yourself out unconscious.

Sian. Tired and nothing much to blog about. Except for that stupid Comm Skills lecturer. Tmd. 3rd week of school and she wants us to do an assignment that's 2 weeks ahead for other classes.

Bloodsucker.

At first I told Kenneth on the first day of the first lesson, "Comm Skills lecturers are good. They smile a lot, making the class very fun. Just like that Sem 2 Comm Skills Lecturer. She was really good. This one should also be very lenient."

Can't believe. "Xiao Li Cang Dao".
Or translated in english, "A dagger hidden behind that smile."

She threw 2 weeks advance homework, on the first day. Eff it. Not to mention I have to type a resume and a cover letter for her before this coming Monday. BAH!

What a waste of air and oxygen.

Oh well. I'm off to wash my bowl and turn in to get some shut eyes. Gonna be a long day later on.
